Barcelona to Host Historic Match at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday
The club confirmed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host the Bilbao team in La Liga two and a half years since relocating so building work could begin.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators can be present based on approved permits. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. The club said completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.
Preparatory Events
The club conducted an open training session on the home pitch earlier this month. Officials stated they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
