The relatives of teenagers unaccounted for after a deadly fire at a bar in a Switzerland's ski resort are confronting an agonising wait for official news and pleading for any details about their loved ones online.

The fire devastated the a popular bar in the alpine resort, located in the Swiss Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the early hours of January 1st. Confirmed footage depict the ceiling being engulfed in flames as beverages with sparklers are held aloft.

Officials have warned that it could take considerable time to formally name the those who perished of the fire, which resulted in the death of four dozen individuals and wounded another 119. Officials noted on the latest update that 113 of the injured have been identified, with efforts still underway to locate the final individuals.

In the meantime, families and friends have been posting on online platforms to request clues about their loved ones who were at the bar that fateful night.

Heartbreaking Pleas for the Unaccounted For

The whereabouts of teenager from Switzerland Arthur Brodard, a teenager, are still unconfirmed, according to an appeal from his mother.

The resident of Lutry near Lausanne, told a local newspaper that she had gone back to Lausanne to check whether he was in the medical facility, while his other parent did the same in the capital, but could not find him.

"It feels like a terrible dream, an ordeal. Either I find my son in the hospital mortuary, or I find him in a serious state. It's terrible," she told the paper.

She added that some of his friends had been discovered with burns covering nearly half their bodies. "It's unspeakable; they experienced hell."

The Italian foreign ministry has confirmed that a number of of its citizens are still unaccounted for.

One of those is Emanuele Galeppini, a 16-year-old sportsman, originally from Italy but now living in Dubai.

The national sporting body has released a tribute that he is dead, without directly referencing the tragedy, honoring a "young athlete who carried with him passion and true sportsmanship."

His parent, is quoted as saying that his son was at the bar and was last heard from around the new year. An representative has clarified that a official announcement of his death is awaited.

Additional Missing Individuals

Giovanni Tamburi, sixteen, is likewise among the missing. His mother told reporters that he had been on vacation but had ventured out with a group and ended up at the venue.
