Two men have been charged in connection with a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be irritant spray led to people being hurt at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and charges for using a harmful chemical, authorities have stated.

These accusations come after an probe of an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their luggage stolen after exiting a car park lift, according to law enforcement.

A young child was caught up in the incident in the event. Several persons required hospital care and were later discharged.

This event – which authorities stated was a standalone event and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
